THE IHCantabria RESEARCHER CAMINO FERNÁNDEZ DE LA HOZ, WINNER OF THE FIRST PRIZE OF THE COMPETITION #PhDenlaUC

The predoctoral researcher of Doctorate Program in Coastal Engineering, Hydrobiology and Management of Aquatic Systems (IH2O), Camino Fernández de la Hoz, has won first prize in the #PhDenlaUniversidad de Cantabria competition, organised by the Doctoral School (EDUniversidad de Cantabria) and the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (Universidad de CantabriaC+i) of the Universidad de Cantabria in collaboration with the company 3DIntelligence, with the aim of disseminating the research carried out by the doctoral students of the Universidad de Cantabria to a non-specialised public in an attractive way. The competition had two phases in which an expert jury and a popular jury evaluated the writing and communication skills to transmit the objective and relevance of the different theses.

Camino Fernández de la Hoz, which carries out its research in the group of Littoral ecosystems of the Institute of Environmental Hydraulics of the Universidad de Cantabria (IHCantabria), under the direction of Professors Araceli Puente and José A Juanes, has presented the scope of its thesis “Effects of climate change on algae” in a text of 300 words, a picture and a three-minute video.
