Pre-registration is now open for a new edition of the University Micro-credentials offered by IHCantabria, to be taken between June 1 and July 31, 2026

The Environmental Hydraulics Institute of the University of Cantabria (IHCantabria) promotes continuous training and quality education by presenting a new edition of University Micro-credentials. The four training itineraries offered are accredited through the Program of Own Studies of the University of Cantabria, constituting an important part of the Specialization Program of IHCantabria.

The entire training offer of the Environmental Hydraulics Institute, available through its training portal ECCE-IH, is aligned with the Educational Strategy of the European Union and adapted to the regulations on Lifelong Learning, through Courses and Proprietary Titles of different categories (diplomas, micro-credentials), which ensure their certification and the application of EU quality standards.

The Microcredentials will be taught in online mode, between June 1 and July 31, 2026, and address topics associated with major environmental challenges in which IHCantabria leads projects at national and international level:

Program that integrates concepts and methodologies applied to manage port water quality, taking as a reference ROM 5.1, the technical standard adopted by the Spanish port sector to assess the risk of pollution associated with emissions produced in its environment.

Program on the knowledge of the role of estuarine ecosystems as an adaptation measure in the context of Climate Change, which develops skills and professional competencies necessary to address the assessment and management of risks to climate change in estuarine areas, from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Program focused on the development of specific competencies in the field of marine ecosystem sustainability, through a multidisciplinary, practical and integrated approach.

Program focused on the analysis and design of mitigation and adaptation measures at the watershed scale, highlighting the potential of Nature-based Solutions (NBS).

Students who wish to enroll can apply until May 20 (inclusive) for the Microcredential 2026 I Edition scholarships, from the Bank of Santander, which cover up to 300€ of the tuition fee. To do so, applicants must first register on the Open Academy platform, through the link: https://app.santanderopenacademy.com/es/program/microcredenciales-2026-i-edicion, and then pre-register also through the website of the University of Cantabria.
