IHCantabria will host from April 10 to 12 the participatory workshops to validate the diagnosis of the Bay of Santander
The objective of these sessions open to the public will be to present the findings of the analysis conducted to date and to prioritize key issues through a collaborative work system
The Plan Bahía project is once again opening its doors to the community with a series of participatory workshops designed to present the preliminary results of the Integrated Diagnosis of the Bay of Santander and evaluate the main problems identified. These workshops open to the public are a unique opportunity for the residents of the Bay, professionals from all sectors operating in the estuary and managers of the different administrations involved in its management to continue actively contributing to the development of the Integrated Diagnosis.
The sessions will be held at the “Aula de Capacitación de IHCantabria”, at Calle Isabel Torres 15, Santander, on the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, April 10, from 16:30 to 18:30.
- Thursday, April 11, from 17:30 to 19:30.
- Friday, April 12, from 9:00 to 11:00.
With a limit of 20 participants per session, those interested in participating can choose the day that best suits their schedule and should confirm their interest in participating in the workshops on the Plan Bahía website, through this link:

The objective of these workshops is twofold. On the one hand, to present the findings of the technical and participatory analysis carried out to date, which includes sectoral roundtables with experts, guided walks open to all citizens and an online consultation. On the other hand, the aim is to confirm and prioritize the key issues of the estuary, through a participatory scoring system and group work. Attendees will have the opportunity to individually assess the importance of 20 previously identified key issues and, subsequently, select and analyze in groups the three most relevant issues and their interrelationships with other aspects of the estuary.
This initiative reflects the Plan Bahía project’s commitment to community inclusion and sustainable environmental management, marking a significant step towards the conservation and responsible use of one of Cantabria’s most emblematic natural resources. Active participation in these workshops will not only give citizens a voice in the future of Santander Bay, but will also help ensure that the management plan that emerges is comprehensive, equitable and representative of the diverse perspectives and needs of the community.
