The project has demonstrated an extraordinary potential for internationalization.

The main objective of the TRL+ project, a deepwater marine technology accelerator, has been the development, validation and commercialization of a set of innovative and highly competitive products, processes and services to accelerate the development of the marine energy industry.

The achievement of this objective has been based on aligning knowledge and innovation through the search for synergies, as well as an effort to integrate and radically improve the scientific-technical capabilities, experience, unique infrastructures and international visibility already offered by BIMEP and the Institute of Environmental Hydraulics of the University of Cantabria (IHCantabria).

The project, structured in 9 stages, has allowed the consortium to generate and implement innovative and unique products, processes and services linked to the management of test farms, integrating meteo-oceanic information and state-of-the-art numerical models: from the initial design stages to the final stages, including conceptual development and field tests, both for individual devices and for complete farms.

Ultimately, the project has demonstrated extraordinary potential to assist in the generation of knowledge and capabilities for offshore test design and management assistance. This market focus has highlighted the importance of transferring research to industry and its potential in driving marine renewable energy.
