IÑIGO ANIEL-QUIROGA ZORRILLA
Biography
Ph.D. Coastal Engineer and currently a researcher of the Coastal Engineering and management group at IHCantabria.
His main field of research covers coastal engineering, numerical modeling, tsunami hazard assessment and wave-structure interaction. He has participated in more than 10 projects, such as ASTARTE, tsunami hazard assessment of the coast of Oman, NEARTOWARN, or the elaboration of the Spanish tsunami warning system database.
In terms of publications, he has been author or co-author in 12 papers in scientific papers, such as “Stability of rubble-mound breakwaters under tsunami first impact and overflow based on laboratory experiments” or “Tsunami hazard at the Western Mediterranean Spanish coast from seismic sources”.
Regarding membership, he is actively involved in the following: Spanish Civil Engineers Association, Global Tsunami Model, NEAMTWS among others.
Finally, he has been awarded for:
- 2nd award Modesto Vigueras of ATCyP – 2019
- Premio Cantabria Digital Award best mobile application of the year 2017.
- 2nd award EUDatathon 2019
