MHRAS is a framework for the assessment of risks for multiple coastal hazards along the coast of Oman. The risk assessment comprises two hazards, tsunamis and tropical cyclones, and two scales of work, national and local.
MHRAS has been designed to strengthen the knowledge base of coastal authorities. MHRAS integrates risk analysis, for planning purposes, and interoperability protocols, for warning purposes. The system provides information to coastal managers and to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (NMHEWS).
