Biography

Paula Gomes da Silva is an oceanographer from the Universidade do Vale do Itajaí, Brazil (2012). In 2018, she obtained a PhD in Coastal Engineering from the Universidad de Cantabria. After a period of postdoctoral experience outside Spain, she joined IHCantabria’s Coastal Engineering and Management group as a researcher in 2020.

Her areas of interest are related to maritime climate analysis, coastal morphodynamics, coastal erosion and flooding risk analysis and coastal management. Her latest experiences also include the analysis of coastal processes through in-situ observations and satellite remote sensing.

SPECIALIZATION TOPICS

Coastal processes.

Coastal dynamics and beach morphodynamics.

Coastal monitoring.
