Biography

Germán Aragón is MSc in Coastal and Port Engineering by the University of Cantabria with background in Civil Engineering. In 2014, he presented his Master’s thesis: “Long-Term Morphodynamic Evolution of Santander Bay” and he became part of IHCantabria staff as R&D Engineer.

His job focuses on estuarine hydro-morphodynamics, oil spill and water quality modelling in marine and freshwater environments. Specifically, he has been involved on the development of wave and current forecast operational systems, numerical modelling, management of global met-ocean databases and report writing. Germán has participated in several contracts with national and international administrations, companies and in competitive research projects. As a result, he has participated in several national and international conferences and he actually has professional experience in hydro-morphodynamic, flood and climate change related hazards, oil spill and water quality
