Biography

Estefanía Giraldo is part of the Ports and Coastal Infrastructures team at IHCantabria since January 2025. Her current work focuses on the numerical modeling of different oceanic variables, the characterization of port maritime climate and the analysis of agitation in these areas.

She is an Oceanographic Engineer from the University of Antioquia (2018) and Master in Coasts and Ports from the University of Cantabria (2024). Her experience is based on the monitoring and diagnosis of climate oscillations and the prediction of their potential effects on the coastal environment. In addition, she has collaborated in projects for the development of forecasting systems for maritime safety, applying modeling techniques and data analysis.
