Biography

Dmitri Kavetski is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Adelaide, Australia, and has recently joined IHCantabria as Senior Adjunct Researcher.

Dmitri’s research interests focus on hydrological modelling at the catchment scale, where he has contributed a range of techniques in model development (conceptualisation and numerical implementation), parameter calibration, and probabilistic uncertainty estimation. Several of these techniques have been implemented in streamflow forecasting systems, including the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

Dmitri is also active in the organisation of international short courses in hydrological modelling, including in Spain (the SCIMITAR school in 2018 and 2019), Switzerland and Canada. Dmitri is attached to the Hydrobiology and Environmental management group of Universidad de Cantabria.
