Biography
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of Cantabria and he is a registered economist, since 1997. He received a Diploma in Labor Relations from the University of Cantabria, in 2001; a Higher Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention from the Center for Financial Studies of Madrid, in 1998; and a Master’s Degree in Taxation and Tax Consulting from the Distance University of Madrid (UDIMA, by its acronym in Spanish), in 2012. He is an University Expert in Audits of Integrated Management Systems, from the Miguel de Cervantes European University, since 2020, and a Controller CCA Certificate from the Global Chartered Controller Institute, since March 2022. In 2023, he completed the “Strategic management program for research, innovation and technology transfer institutions (GEDIIT)” at the Higher School of Business Administration and Management (Esade); This is a program designed by the Gadea Ciencia Foundation.
His professional career, from 1997 to the present, has been linked to Cantabria. He has been Controller, Financial Director, Human Resources Director and Deputy General Director in various private sector companies until the end of 2013. In January 2014 he was appointed administrator of the Research and Technology Transfer Management Unit of IHCantabria, a position he has carried out to date being responsible, among other functions, for the legal, economic and administrative direction and coordination of more than 400 research and/or consulting projects undertaken since 2014. Since January 2018, he has held the position of Manager at the “Fundación Instituto de Hidráulica Ambiental de Cantabria” (FIHAC), where he is in charge of the management and coordination of the Division of administration and management of scientific-technical activities.
