The Water quality management information system (WAMIS) is a technological framework that has been designed for the implementation of information management systems and environmental decision support systems for salt and fresh waters: water framework directive (IH-WFD), harbours water quality management (Portonovo, ROM5.1) and integrated catchment management (MARCE).
The WAMIS framework has been designed to answer the requirements from Environmental water quality management and decision support, which include the entire data life cycle: collection, validation, organization and manipulation of environmental data enabling scientific analysis and overcoming heterogeneity from different experimental sites and sources. Quantitative observations from water, sediment and biological matrices are effectively managed through the WAMIS Observation Data Model.
