The Coastal Modeling System (SMC) is a set of new methodologies and numerical tools that allow a better understanding of coastal systems, as well as a more reliable design of actions on the coast.
SMC is a system with a friendly graphical interface and a wide range of applications, designed to help different types of users (engineers, technicians, researchers, oceanographers, graduates in marine sciences, etc.) develop coastal projects or studies.
This system was originally designed for Spain, but was later implemented in Colombia, Brazil (in portuguese), Tunisia (in French) and Taiwan (in English), including its corresponding local databases (waves, levels and bathymetry) based on the available information.
