Biography

Sara Novo Cañizares graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Cantabria in 2021, specializing in Hydraulics and Hydrology. Subsequently, in 2022, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Coasts and Ports at the same university, with a specialization in Risk Management.

In addition, she has previous work experience in a research group at the University of Cantabria, where she focused on the study of flooding caused by climate change and the consequent retreat of the coastline on a Pacific island.

Since January 2023, Sara is a Technologist in the “Climate Risks, Adaptation and Resilience” Research Group at IHCantabria. Her work focuses mainly on the assessment of coastal impacts through numerical modeling and simulation of coastal flooding and erosion events.
