Renan Gonçalves Meneses
Biografía
Born in Pernambuco, Brazil, he grew up surrounded by coastal landscapes that shaped his passion for marine environments. He holds a degree in Marine and Coastal Management from Portugal’s University of Algarve, and expanded his experience through studies at Australia’s University of Technology Sydney.
He pursued further specialization through a master’s in Water and Coastal Management from Italy’s University of Bologna, focusing on sustainable coastal development and climate adaptation. His work centers on practical solutions that foment sustainable marine environments, coastlines and supports local communities.
Currently, he is expanding his expertise through a PhD at IHCantabria in Coastal Engineering and Aquatic Systems. By combining technical research with real-world applications, he aims to develop innovative approaches for coastal and marine issues connecting science, planning and practical solutions for healthier oceans and more sustainable coastal communities.
