Miguel Alexander Macedo Zegarra
Miguel Macedo studied Economics at the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima – Peru (2002) and International Business at ITESM – Mexico (2003). He is a student of the Master in Economics: Instruments of Analysis at the University of Cantabria (2024). For his interest in quantitative analysis and Big data, he has a Data Analysis for Social Scientists certification from MIT, and for SEM and SEO, advanced certified licenses in Google Adwords and Google Analytics. In 2023 he completed a micro-credential in Python at the University of Cantabria, for economic data management.
At the Peruvian Center for Social Studies (2004), he worked as an advisor on public policies related to agriculture, social development and free trade agreements. Subsequently, he was an advisor to the Vice-Ministry of Social Development of Peru. Between 2011 and 2013 he was responsible for Latin America for the systematization of land grabbing data for the Land Matrix project of the International Land Coalition (ILC). In 2018 he was in charge of configuring the financial self-sustainability model for natural protected areas in Peru. Teaching at the IDEA Institute in Peru brought him closer to digital transformation issues, with them and other companies he worked on web positioning and evaluation of digital business lines. In the transportation sector in Peru, he was supervisor of concession contracts for the Metropolitan BRT Buses, and participated in the Cable Cars team, in this regard has a publication on technology, transportation and use of data. With Fundación Capital he worked on training and digital transformation of MYPES in Peru (2021-2023).
Currently, at IHCantabria, Miguel Macedo is part of the Cantabria Smart Litoral Project (CSL).
Contracting carried out within the framework of the collaborative R+D+I program integrated in the complementary plan in the area of marine sciences financed by the European Union -NextGenerationEU, PRTR (C17.I1) / MICIU / Government of Cantabria.
