Biography

Mauro Frontini holds a degree in Archaeology from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Maritime and Coastal Archaeology (MoMArch) from Aix-Marseille University (France). He has also completed several modules of the Master’s in Civil Engineering (Caminos, Canales y Puertos) at the University of Cantabria. Since November 2021, he has been pursuing a PhD within the Espaces, Cultures, Sociétés ED 355 program at Aix-Marseille University, and since November 2022, he has also been a PhD candidate in the Coastal Engineering, Hydrobiology and Aquatic Systems Management program, within the Climate Risks, Adaptation and Resilience research group.

His main line of research focuses on the study of underwater and coastal cultural heritage, with an emphasis on the reconstruction of ancient structures and the assessment of their functionality in the short, medium, and long term. His approach centers on analyzing the interaction between historical structures and the marine environment, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of ancient societies.
