Mario Álvarez Cabria
Biography
Graduated in Biology from the University of Leon since 2003, reaching the title of Doctor by the Universidad de Cantabria in 2010 with qualification Outstanding Cum Laude.
Member of IHCantabria since 2006 where he focuses his work on the study of benthic macroinvertebrate communities, determining the relationships that these communities establish with the aquatic environment, to subsequently apply the knowledge acquired to improve the assessment and management of river ecosystems. In addition, he has participated in many projects and scientific publications that seek to advance knowledge in the relationships established between the terrestrial and aquatic environment and in certain ecological patterns and dynamics that occur in these ecosystems.
He has published 15 articles in international journals indexed in the JCR, as well as several chapters in books. He has participated in 7 competitive R+D+I projects and 27 non-competitive projects for private sector companies and public entities.
