Laura Martín Ros
Biography
Laura Martín is currently a technologist in the Climate Risk, Adaptation and Resilience Group at IHCantabria. She is a Civil and Territorial Engineer by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2018-2023) specialized in the branch of Hydrology. She is also a Marine Scientist from the University of Alicante (2012-2016). She recently completed the Master of Coasts and Ports at the University of Cantabria (2023-2024), specializing in Coastal Dynamics.
Laura combined her studies with collaborative internships at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where she focused her work on the analysis of marine energy resources, and later at the University of Cantabria, within the GeoOcean group, where she specialized in the use of the Delft 3D Flexible Mesh process model, as well as participating in field campaigns.
She also has experience in the management/implementation of public works projects for water supply and sanitation, having worked in the Hydraulic Works Department in charge of the rehabilitation of the water network of Canal de Isabel II (Madrid).
Currently, her work within the institute focuses on the characterization of climate risks in coastal infrastructures and the design of adaptation measures, as well as the development of methodologies to characterize risk and offer solutions to reduce hazard and vulnerability in ports.
