Isabel Gallego
Biography
Isabel Gallego is a technologist at the Institute of Environmental Hydraulics of Cantabria (IHCantabria) and is part of the team focused on the analysis of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for coastal defense and adaptation to climate change, within the Risks group, Resilience and Adaptation. Her work at IHCantabria focuses on the development of projects that promote the use of NBS as coastal protection measures. Isabel focuses mainly on the processing and analysis of field and laboratory data, and on the numerical modeling of the flow-ecosystem interaction, in order to quantify the protection service provided by NBS in the different study areas.
Isabel is a Civil Engineer from the University of Antioquia (2021), during her degree she completed an academic internship at the IHCantabria (2021). She also participated in academic exchanges at the EAFIT University and the University of Medellín. Isabel has experience in consulting projects related to Coasts and Ports in the Colombian Caribbean and has a master’s degree in Coasts and Ports from the University of Cantabria (2023). As a complement to her master’s training, she completed internships in the Risks, Resilience and Adaptation group at IHCantabria (2023).
