Eduardo Santamaría Cruces
Biography
Eduardo Santamaría Cruces studied a double degree in Civil Engineering and Mining and Energy Resources Engineering at the University of Oviedo, where he specialized in Civil Construction and Hydrology, as well as in Energy Resources, Fuels and Explosives.
During his studies, in addition to an Erasmus stay at the Politechnika Śląska (Poland), he was awarded the end-of-studies prize for the best academic record of his promotion.
In parallel, he worked as a programming teacher in an academy, teaching basic levels.
During the last semester of his degree, he did an internship in a research group at the University of Oviedo, focused on terrain dynamics, where he gained experience with the use of sensors and the acquisition and processing of laboratory data.
After completing the double degree, he started working in a company where he developed software for engineering, work that he has combined with his studies in the Master’s program in Civil Engineering at the University of Cantabria, which he began in September 2023.
During the second and third trimester of the first year of the master’s degree, he participated in an internship within a research group at the University of Cantabria, on computational statistics, models and algorithms. Currently, he contributes as a project assistant in the Climate Risk, Adaptation and Resilience Group of IHCantabria.
