Biography

Felipe Gallón is an oceanographer graduated from the University of Antioquia, Colombia, with a master’s degree in Territorial Planning with emphasis in Coastal Management from the University of the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Throughout his professional career, he has worked in various research centers, addressing topics such as climate characterization in the face of hurricanes and cold fronts, marine acidification, coastal vulnerability, and the analysis of the vertical structure of the ocean in the face of climate variability events such as El Niño and La Niña.

Currently, he works in the Maritime Climate and Climate Change group at IHCantabria within the IHData Update project associated to the Marine Science Program. Within this project, it carries out tasks such as updating, extraction and analysis of meteocean data, as well as climatic characterization of waves, winds, sea level, among other variables.
