Biography

Graduate in Biotechnology from the University of Valencia and Master’s degree in Plant Health and Production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She began her research career with the study of the differential gene expression of the green microalga Trebouxia sp.TR9 in response to osmotic and salt stress and later continued her research on the effect of a new plant virus in different varieties of pepper that ended up being part of a publication in the “European Journal of Plant Patholog

She is currently part of the Continental Ecosystems Group at IHCantabria as a pre-doctoral researcher. Her thesis focuses on the study of environmental DNA and the application of molecular techniques to characterise biological communities in rivers, using metabarcoding to monitor biodiversity, biomass and biological activity in aquatic ecosystems,
