We assess the conservation status of Natura 2000 sites and their components (habitats and species).
We develop management plans for spaces, species and habitats cataloged by the Habitats Directive (92/43/CEE).
We carry out mapping of habitats using traditional techniques and through remote sensing.
We assess the impacts on the spaces of the Natura 2000 Network.
We develop public participation processes.
NATURE 2000 NETWORK
Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries. Government of Cantabria. IHCantabria collaborated in drafting the Management Plan for the spaces of the Natura 2000 Network in Cantabria, an administrative instrument that lays out the management guidelines, objectives and measures needed to guarantee achieving and/or maintaining the proper conservation of habitats and species of community interest in Cantabria.
Biodiversity Foundation. Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment. Monitoring the effects of global change on the aquatic ecosystems of the Picos de Europa National Park.
Biodiversity Foundation. Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment. Creation and analysis of measures to adapt the Picos de Europa, Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Guadarrama to climate change.
European Commission (LIFE Program). The CONVIVE LIFE project was created as an instrument to apply the management measures needed to return habitats of community interest 1330 and 1420 to a well-preserved state.
