Yesterday, the awards ceremony was held for the group of students who stood out for the presentations they gave on the progress made in the development of their doctoral theses, within the doctoral program in “Coastal Engineering, Hydrobiology and Management of Aquatic Systems of the University of Cantabria” (IH2O Program<\/a>).<\/p>\n

This event took place in the Auditorium of the Institute of Environmental Hydraulics of the Universidad de Cantabria (IHCantabria<\/a>) and was chaired by the coordinator of the IH20 Program, Jos\u00e9 Juanes de la Pe\u00f1a<\/a>, who recognized the effort and quality of the work presented by the students of this doctoral program.<\/p>\n

As in previous editions, several awards were presented at yesterday’s event to the best presentations in each line of research, which this year went to: Katerine E. Ticse de la Torre<\/a> (L1. Hydraulic and Coastal Engineering); Camila De S\u00e1 Cotrim<\/a> and Dina G\u00f3mez Rave<\/a> (L2. Climate, Energy and Marine Infrastructures); and Andre Chagas da Costa Neves<\/a> (L3. Hydrobiology and Environmental Management).
The best presentations of the first year doctoral students also received awards, one for each line of research, which went to David Gal\u00e1n P\u00e9rez<\/a> (L1), Andrea Costales Llana<\/a> (L2) and Raquel Zarauza Mart\u00ednez<\/a> (L3).<\/p>\n

Closing of the 10th Doctoral Conference of the IH20 Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

The awards ceremony, held yesterday, marked the closing of the X Jornadas de Doctorado del Programa IH20<\/a>, which took place from July 8 to 10, 2024, in the Auditorium of IHCantabria.<\/p>\n

The coordinator of the IH2O Program and the X Jornadas de Doctorado, Jos\u00e9 Juanes de la Pe\u00f1a, presented the awards to the group of doctoral students.
In his speech yesterday, he congratulated the group of students for their commitment to research and the excellence demonstrated in their presentations.
Each awardee received a diploma and a commemorative gift from IHCantabria.<\/p>\n

These awards are an example of IHCantabria’s continuous effort to promote quality research in the fields of hydraulic and coastal engineering; climate, climate change and infrastructures; and hydrobiology and environmental management.
This program promotes both basic and applied research, with a multidisciplinary approach that addresses the challenges of the water cycle at global and local scales.<\/p>\n
