\nAs part of the Interreg Atlantic Area funded PORTOS Project, novel marine renewable energy technologies will be tested at various test facilities in the Atlantic Area. In March 2020, a call for countries within the Atlantic Area was released whereby technologists were invited to submit applications for review by an independent selection panel.<\/p>\n

About PORTOS Project<\/strong><\/p>\n

PORTOS (Ports Towards Energy Self-Sufficiency) aims to promote the implementation of wave, tidal and wind energy, at Atlantic Area ports, as to impact two environmental priorities: reduction of greenhouse gases emissions and air pollution by providing renewable energy-based solutions to harvest the renewable energy potential of Atlantic Area coastal areas.<\/p>\n

PORTOS also aims to assess, develop and promote the integrated use of renewable energy resources in Atlantic Area ports and increase their energy efficiency, establishing a roadmap to a more competitive and sustainable sector.<\/p>\n
