H\u00e9ctor Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Quintanal is a Civil Engineer; Master in Civil Engineering; Master in Coasts and Ports by the University of Cantabria presenting as his master’s thesis “Functional and final design of the west breakwater of the San Mart\u00edn estuary and analysis of its effect on the beach of La Concha de Suances”.<\/p>\n

After having worked in private consultancy on national and international projects, all of them related to maritime-port terminals, as well as offshore engineering projects, he is currently part of the Oceanography, Estuaries and Water Quality Group where he works in the field of modelling oil and chemical spills, applying numerical modelling techniques for the analysis of accidental spills.<\/p>\n
