IHCantabria’s website has been awarded as the best professional website, in the 13th edition of the Cantabria Digital Awards that the Diario Montañés newspaper presents every year. On this occasion and due to the current circumstances the gala was replaced by the publication of a video communicating the winners.

The website was chosen from more than 150 entries that were presented this year, and rewarded both the design, usability and copywriting effort made.

About the website

The website, developed in open source, has more than 300 pages and among other technical challenges it has managed to link to the ORCiD API’s, so that the profiles of each researcher always appear with their publications updated. The new sections have also been very well received, such as the dedicated to school material and activities for schools, or those dedicated to the press with the latest news and press releases.

Some numbers

The Institute’s website has gone from receiving just over 64,000 visits per year with the previous version to over 1,040,000 visits per year, approximately every 3 days someone uses one of our forms and our news and press releases have become monitored by the media, increasing our overall impact significantly.
