Biography

Civil Engineer from EIA University, Colombia (2011), MSc. Coastal and Port Engineering (2014) and Ph.D. Coastal Engineering from Universidad de Cantabria (2014). Currently, Camilo is researcher of the Coastal Engineering and Management group at IHCantabria, where he has participated in numerous national and international projects since 2014.

His main field of research is related to the study of coastal morphodynamics, coastal management, and the analysis of the climate change effects on coastal areas. In the last years, he has focused his study on the development of equilibrium-based shoreline evolution models considering planform and profile in the medium to long-term scales. He has also collaborated in the development of the Coastal Modeling System (SMC) for Brazil and is responsible for the management of the SMC E-Learning course. In terms of scientific dissemination, Camilo has participated both in the publication of different articles of indexed journals, as well as in contributions to congresses in the field of Coastal Engineering.
