Professional in Civil Engineering from the Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito (Colombia), with a Master’s Degree in Integrated Management of Water Systems (2019-2020) from the Universidad de Cantabria (Spain), where he was recognized as the student with the best academic record.
Since 2015 Diego has developed his professional activity, developing consulting projects linked to the field of hydraulics and hydrology, performing roles as a specialist design engineer, in addition as coordinator of projects referred to the design of hydraulic structures, sanitation structures, wastewater treatment plants, road drainage, flood modeling and vulnerability analysis, among others.
Diego, who is currently a predoctoral researcher in the Maritime Climate and Climate Change Group, began his career at IHCantabria as an internship student, participating in projects related to climate, climate change and the development of advanced statistical prediction models. Likewise, his research work within the group has led him to participate in research projects related to the development of methodologies for the assessment and prediction of extreme weather events.
