Sara Ámez

Sara Ámez is responsible for the International Cooperation Area of IH Cantabria. She has a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Huelva (UHU) and is currently pursuing a Masters in Integrated Coastal Zone Management at the University of Cantabria (UC). She participates in the drafting and development of projects financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the UNDP and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID) in managing coastal risk and vulnerability to natural disasters in countries such as Peru, El Salvador or Trinidad and Tobago. Besides, she also works performs tasks related with the management support and monitoring of the Strategic Area of Water and Energy within the Cantabria International Campus UC and regularly collaborates with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as Chapter Volunteer Scientist in the drafting chapter "Coastal systems and low-lying areas" (5AR) coordinated by Iñigo Losada and Poh Poh Wong.

Before working at IH Cantabria,(2003-2008), her international experience  focused on European countries (Italy, France and Belgium) where she carried out consulting activities in environmental policy to European institutions, besides coordinating the Environmental Technical Group of the Spanish Regional Offices in Brussels.
