The number of students in the period 2016 - October 2017 who did their internship in IHCantabria rose to 71, of which 1 in 3 were foreign students.

This achievement reinforces our support for the internationalisation of the University of Cantabria and for policies of educational excellence.

In total, these students represent 9 different countries: Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy and Morocco.

Of these students, the proportion of women is 43% female and 57% male. The agreement signed with the Women for Africa Foundation, presided over by Mª Teresa Fernández de la Vega, in the framework of justice and gender equity. Under this agreement, a Moroccan student has been incorporated.

These external academic practices constitute an activity of a formative nature carried out by the students and supervised by the Universities, the aim of which is to enable them to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training, favouring the acquisition of competences that prepare them for the exercise of professional activities, facilitate their employability and foster their entrepreneurial capacity.

For IHCantabria, it is an opportunity to contribute to the training of future professionals and generate opportunities for international collaboration, since, in the near future, these technicians will strengthen the staff of organisations, companies and research centres in their countries.

IHCantabria's international character is a key part of its strategy. During our ten years of activity, more than 1000 projects have been carried out in 60 countries.
